“Protect our sisters” - GeePatta

“Since France introduced its burqa ban in April there have been violent attacks on women wearing the niqab and, this week, the first fines could be handed down. But a legal challenge to this hard line may yet expose the French state as a laughing stock.”

My top 3 Dipset music videos directed by Jim Jones.

Certified Gangstas. CAPO’s directing debut and his own personal favorite had me believing Game was a certified gangsta crip killer. With special appearance by Jimmy’s perm. Whoooooooo, when I grow up I want to look just like him. Undisputed number 1!

Dipset Anthem/I Really Mean It Proof there’s strength in numbers. The video for Dipset anthem is aaight but once it switches to I Really Mean It it’s on: Cam in the pink jacket & timbs, Jimmy all bandana’d out, Juelz lookin like the prince of harlem in his allover stars & stripes and ya boy Freeky straight wildin. Now that’s powerful visuals alongside powerful music, man.

Santana’s Town Ah, the illusion of the whole one take thing. Serious choreography with the runnin around, shootin dice, hollerin at the ladies, changing outfits two times while bein chased by cops and everything goin on. Choo Choo Train, Cuckoo Mayne.

“Fame is something that is bestowed upon you because of success. Success is something you have to chase,” he explains. “And once you’ve had success, you have to keep having it in order not to be a failure. In business, you can have one massive success that earns $50 million overnight, and that’s it. You’re successful. End of story. But in the music business, you have to keep on doing it. You have to constantly chase success. The fame you just get. I enjoy being famous, because I don’t have to do anything. I can just turn up at nice restaurants and people are like, ‘Oh, it’s Noel fucking Gallagher. Brilliant. Sit down.’ But success can ruin people, because you have to chase it, and that can drive you insane. You can get obsessed with the idea of a formula, and you start wondering, ‘Why did I sell 20 fucking million albums in less than two years during the ’90s, but now I can’t sell 20 million albums over the span of 10 years after the turn of the century?’ And it’s not like I sit around thinking about that, but it’s always there. And when you start really chasing success, you start to make mistakes, and that’s when things spin out of fucking control.” —http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/6937414/noel-gallagher-oasis

“.. No male R&B singer is more skeptical about women than Mr. Nash, who on his albums as The-Dream portrays relationships as dysplasias born of the unfortunate intersection of romance and money and fame and fear. Mr. Nash isn’t immune to naïve crushes, but anything beyond that is a cancer, waiting to metastasize.” —http://mobile.nytimes.com/2011/09/06/arts/music/albums-from-terius-nash-george-strait-cymbals-eat-guitars.xml
